When students do not read at grade level it creates a glass ceiling for math teachers.

In this 3-Day workshop, you'll learn how to teach your students to use the Read, Draw, Write problem solving strategy to solve word problems by using context clues, inferences, and Thinking Routines.

Here are the dates and times (and yes, there'll be recordings!)

  • Monday, July 26th :  Thinking Routines for graphs and charts. 4:30pm -5:30 pm CST
  • Monday, August 2nd : Problem Solving and Context Clues. 4:30pm -5:30 pm CST
  • Monday, August 9th: Predicting with Evidence to determine which operation(s) to use to solve the problem. 4:30pm -5:30 pm CST

Meet Your Host

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and a Master of Science degree in curriculum, instruction and technology.

Throughout her career, Michelle has served in a variety of capacities. She has propelled students to new heights as a classroom teacher and has mentored new educators as a lead teacher and TAP mentor teacher and TAP master teacher. She’s also spearheaded the direction of instructional strategies at her schools as an instructional coach and department chair.

Michelle remains a committed educator and hopes to share her wealth of professional knowledge and experiences with teachers, administrators and parents through her original lesson plans and resources. She is The IgnitED Teacher.

What are the  Series Dates and Times?

The dates for the Fraction Training are July 26th , August 2nd, August 9th. Each session will begin at 4:30 pm CST.

 

What if I can't attend a session I registered for?

All sessions will be recorded. If for any reason you can't attend a session, a link to the recording will be provided.

 

Will I Receive a Certificate for PD Hours?

At the end of each session a certificate will be emailed to you. Before registering for a session please check with your Department of Education for PD requirements for you state.

 

How long will the Recorded Videos be Available?

The recorded  sessions will be available for thirty days after the the training. Once the thirty days have ended the recorded sessions will be available for purchase.
